Two Big Winners Clean up with Huge Jackpot and Pricey Sports Car

Talk about two players being in the right place at the right time! A Pai Gow poker table game at the Eastside Cannery Casino paid out a whopping $260,682 to a lucky local player who drew a seven card straight flush for the progressive payout. Picking out the right penny slot machine paid off for a New York lady visiting the Cosmopolitan for the first time. She took a gamble and after playing for a short time she hit the message saying “Jackpot Telsa Roadster.” To her surprise, she won the zero-emission car which is valued at $150,000! The casino has been featuring the car jackpot to entice the public to use the free charging station while at the property.

Dust Stirring up on Las Vegas Strip

A few big construction projects are underway on the Strip; the first being the tearing down of the old Flamingo parking garage behind the now closed O’Sheas casino. This is in preparation of the $550 million Project Linq, a retail, dining and entertainment center, being built by Caesars Entertainment Corp. The main focus upon completion in 2013 is the 550-foot observation wheel. A traffic advisory has been issued to help you maneuver your way around the area during the development of The Linq. There will be additional road closures at Imperial Palace Hotel during construction. Vehicle traffic will no longer be able to access the IP from the Strip entrance. A detour route has been set up to bring all traffic through the east end of the property and cars may also use the Harrah’s Las Vegas entrance from Las Vegas Blvd. A temporary pedestrian area for customers will open from Las Vegas Blvd. on the north side gated area until construction of the new pedestrian entrance at Harrah’s Carnaval Court is complete. Pedestrians may also use the bridge between Harrah’s and the IP located at the rear of the properties. All detours are clearly marked.  A couple of things are going on at the defunct Sahara where they are transforming it into SLS Las Vegas. According to plans, the three existing hotel towers will remain, and a low-rise structure will be removed. The SLS Las Vegas, with a boutique concept, expects to have 1,600 rooms when it opens sometime in 2014. A landmark at the Sahara has always been their roller coaster, well, that will remain but in a different location. It will be moved just across from Mandalay Bay where they will rebuild it on an empty parcel of land.
