Pool Hopping in Las Vegas

Las Vegas resorts have become a lot more liberal when it comes to the usual policy of hotel guests only using their pools. Now you will find some of the premier properties in town allowing non-registered guests a chance to take a dip; for a small charge. Enjoy some pool time at Caesars Garden of the Gods for $20 (Friday-Sunday) or Planet Hollywood’s Pleasure Pool. It’s even cheaper at Bally’s BLU Pool and Luxor, both charging $10. For some free splashing, try Rio’s VooDoo Beach or the Boulevard Pool at The Cosmopolitan where showing your Identity Players Club card allows free access Sunday-Thursday. As far as renting a cabana, they are not cheap! Be prepared to cough up to $500 a day for the privilege of being treated like a VIP, but there is one way to possibly get around the pricy tab by simply keeping your eyes open. Don’t book your cabana in advance, instead wait an hour or so and see if they are filling up. If they are still empty after 1 p.m., just hike on over to the spa area where they are normally rented from and make an offer as to how much you are willing to pay. It won’t work at all hotels; but there is no harm in asking. Now if you have money to burn and don’t mind paying the big tariff you can normally make an advance reservation for a cabana about seven days in advance.
